Our client is a highly popular online services provider seeking a contract admin resource to participate as a key member of the team responsible for 24x7 operational support of eCommerce sites and corporate infrastructure providing hardware, software and application support and troubleshooting of servers and network devices. The Support Systems Administrator must possess significant work experience in a production, mission-critical, revenue-dependent, 24x7 infrastructures including corporate, eCommerce and network devices. Demonstrated proficiency with Windows 2000/2003 server, Unix/Linux, TCP/IP networking, single domain model concepts, AD, share and file access security concepts will be required. The SSA will provide technical expertise to standard hardware and software products, and assist with installation and configuration of software deployments. In addition, s/he will be accountable for creating and maintaining standards, policies, procedures and documentation. The Support Systems Administrator must be able to follow processes to ensure that the systems meet SOX and PCI compliance. Responsibilities to include:
- Day-to-day live-site and corporate environments investigations of enterprise infrastructure of Windows and Linux servers and network devices
- Supporting aspects of daily operational activities including account and resource management, backup/recovery and server hardware and software monitoring, maintenance and upgrades
- Providing troubleshooting expertise to large and varied environments supporting live sites and corporate applications including servers and network infrastructure
- Deploying live site code changes and SQL data changes in conjunction with Release Management, Change Management and Tier teams
- Working closely with Program Management, Product Development, Test and Site Operations teams for the deployment, configuration, system requirement validation and support of multiple services across an expansive and diverse production environment
- Identifying and providing for global dependencies such as domain membership and trusts, DNS requirements, and external dependencies
- Implementing said designs and maintaining compliance with environmental security and trustworthy computing policies
- Quickly and effectively learning new systems to rapidly identify potential solutions to resolve and prevent future service interruptions
- Independently driving complicated system-related issues to resolution across multiple services and groups with little or no supervision
- Communicating key elements of technical problem(s) and assigning cases to internal and external partners as necessary
- Drafting and review of technical documentation and Trouble Shooting Guides for Tier I and Tier II personnel
